Kyle Hilliam hands-in his PhD!

We are thrilled to announce that one of our brilliant PhD students, Kyle, has just submitted his thesis at Deakin University, titled “Predicting Marine Invasions for Optimised Management.” Kyle’s work has focused on getting ahead of marine invasions by providing critical insights for management strategies. His research aimed to predict these complex and often unpredictable invasions through detailed modeling.

Throughout his PhD, Kyle tackled several key challenges: first, understanding how marine invasions occur; then, quantifying the risk posed by recreational vessels in introducing invasive species. He further explored the drivers behind the spread of invasives observed over the past two decades and examined the role of natural dispersal in this process.

We want to extend a massive congratulations to Kyle and a huge thank you for all your hard work and significant contributions to the MBT program! Your dedication and achievements will have a lasting impact on the field of marine invasion management!
